Information for teachers and advisers

We are always happy to hear from schools and colleges about supporting their year 12 and 13 students with their transition to higher education. To book an activity, please get in touch. We deliver high quality presentations to students, staff and parents related to higher education. These presentations can be delivered online, at your school or college, or at either our Tooting or Clerkenwell campuses (depending on the activity).

Typical talks include a focus on aspects such as:

  • Post-18 Options – Is university right for me?
  • How to pick a university course?
  • What is the value of my degree in an economic crisis?
  • How do I choose the right course and university?
  • How do I write a competitive personal statement?
  • How do I prepare for interview and selection days?
  • How will I fund my studies?
  • What would a course and a career in healthcare offer me?

The talks are designed to encourage and support students through the application process, whilst informing them about what City St George’s, University of London has to offer. The programme of talks is constantly being reviewed and updated so most requests can be catered for.

These talks are designed for groups of Year 12 and 13 students with a general interest in Higher Education and who, ideally, would be expecting to meet the City St George’s entry requirements for their chosen programme.

Subject specific talks

We can also arrange subject specific talks, delivered by City St George’s, University of London's lecturers. If you would like to involve our lecturers in your next round of subject talks, please do get in touch and we will aim to support your programme of events.

These talks are designed for groups of Year 12 and Year 13 students with a specific subject interest, who would be expected to meet the entry requirements for their appropriate programme.

This is a free service and most sessions last between 30 minutes and one hour, although it is possible to alter the sessions depending upon the needs of the school/college.
