Information for teachers and advisers
Our Schools and Colleges Liaison and Outreach Team works closely with teachers and advisers from across the UK and beyond, providing information, advice, and awareness-raising activities that support learners to make informed decisions about higher education, work, or training.
The team offers a core range of engaging talks and workshops that can be delivered in-school or on-campus, as well as subject-specific activity that showcases the breadth of courses available at Sheffield Hallam University.
Our core offer for Year 12, 13 and mature learners can be categorised into three main areas:
- Deciding – talks and workshops designed to help students decide whether university is for them, or to consider their course options
- Applying – interactive activities to help students navigate the application process for university or an apprenticeship, including personal statement and student finance workshops
- Connecting – sessions designed to give students an insight into university life and support the transition to higher education
Our
subject-specific offer is as varied and diverse as the courses available at the University, and includes course talks, academic-led taster sessions, and curriculum-linked workshops designed to support the delivery of Level 3 programmes.
We work with hundreds of teachers every year to build bespoke activity programmes tailored to their students’ needs. You can sign up to our newsletters and
