Creative Industries Taster Days

As part of National Careers Month, Sheffield Hallam University’s Creative Industries institute invites Year 12 students to an inspiring and educational on-campus experience exploring the world of art and design.

Students will be welcomed by an academic who will introduce the wide range of creative courses available — many of which students may not considered before. The creative industries are incredibly broad, and learning about these diverse pathways often sparks new ideas and ambitions. Past participants have told us how eye-opening and motivating this experience has been for their Post-16 choices.

The day includes:

• Course Overview – Discover the breadth of creative industry courses and the exciting careers they can lead to.
• Workshop 1 – A hands-on session in a creative subject area, with clear links to real-world creative careers.
• Lunch Break
• Workshop 2 – A second academic-led workshop offering deeper insight and practical experience, again tied to future career options.
• Evaluation & Departure – Reflect on the day and take away valuable insights for your next steps.
