Explore society, culture and social issues through engaging and interactive sessions, taking a holistic approach to understanding human behaviour and social structures while developing critical thinking for the future.
Sociology Experience Days at Sheffield Hallam University’s City Campus offer students a taste of their next steps and what it’s like to study sociology in higher education.
These engaging sessions enhance curriculum learning, support progression in the subject, and complement careers education by highlighting how sociology applies in real life and the wide range of career pathways it can lead to.
During the Experience Day, students will begin with a welcome talk delivered by a member of the academic team, providing an overview of the subject and the courses available.
Students will then take part in two masterclasses led by academics in the field of sociology. These sessions are designed to be engaging and interactive, and typically focus on areas of sociology currently being researched or taught, reflecting academic specialisms.
Students will also have the opportunity to take part in a campus tour, exploring the state-of-the-art facilities in the Redmires building, where they will gain insight into the environment in which they would study.
