A free, architecture-themed holiday workshop for students in Years 9, 10 and 11, who live and/or go to school in the London boroughs of Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets or Waltham Forest.
The UCL East Architecture Holiday Club is a two-day programme of exciting hands-on activities, allowing you to get a feel for what it's like to be an architecture student. Learn from subject specialists and try your hand at some of the skills needed to become an architect.
The aim of the workshop will introduce students to architectural thinking through drawing, mapping, and model making as practised at UCL. Led by academic tutors, the programme focuses on understanding space, time, and experience through the act of “unfolding.” Participants will produce a series of drawings documenting their personal journeys, which will then be collaged into a 2.5D composition that sits between drawing and model. These works will explore multiple moments, perceptions, and scales within a single representation, through practises of collaborative sketching, drawing and model making.
It will be an exciting and interactive experience for students, giving them the chance to think creatively, learn new skills and work with others.
Dates and Times
The club takes place at UCL East in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, on Tuesday 31 March 2026 and Wednesday 1 April 2026 from 10am to 4pm.
