Full event details

Do your students want to understand the difference between creating game worlds or adding movement to objects in that world? Or how concept artists design the props and environments for a story while an illustrator brings the story to life? Students are introduced to our range of creative courses, get advice from those working in the industry and understand how to build their portfolio.

The day starts off with practitioner talks, the first of which is from Carrie Le, Senior Lecturer in Concept Art on 'How Concept Artists Adapt to the AI Era' As concept artists, our job is to create characters, environments, props, and more for the entertainment industry — including games, animation, films, and television. Concept art isn’t just about making beautiful images; it’s about visualizing stories and building worlds that bring projects to life. As we all know, AI technology is developing rapidly, and our industry is evolving along with it. If images can now be generated at the click of a button, what role will concept artists play? How can we stay competitive in this new landscape? In this talk, Carrie will share insights from her own creative journey and explore how we can continue to grow as well-rounded artists in this ever-changing world.
