Artificial Intelligence: How could it really change businesses?
In this session you will learn about some of the key concepts of artificial intelligence, including key terminologies and methodologies. We will explore a business case study that will help identify the application of AI technologies in various business functions such as marketing, finance, operations, and customer service, recognising potential benefits and challenges. Finally, we will briefly consider the ethical, legal, and societal implications of AI deployment in business environments, including issues related to data privacy, job displacement, and information bias.
Productivity and performance at Junction hotel (King, D & Lawley, S): the importance of organising, managing and developing people.
In this case study scenario, you would have an opportunity to act as a consultant to a hotel going through tough times as it attempts to remain competitive in a changing world of work. We will look into some human resource management functions such as organisational structure/culture, training and development, use of technology in work design, and leadership and their importance in building and maintaining local and international businesses. This session will provide you with great insight on the role of people (human capital) in the ability of organisations to achieve and sustain its success.
