Institution Profile

Hello from Nottingham Trent University’s Schools and Colleges Liaison Team.

Our role includes attending HE Fairs, delivering talks, workshops and activities to support students, parents, and teachers and advisers across the UK with applications to university.

Information for students

We provide a range of support for students throughout the application cycle to support their transition to university.

Students can book themselves onto sessions such as:

  • Undergraduate Open Days
  • Taster days and interactive subject specific sessions
  • Virtual workshops focused on topics such as the personal statement and UCAS application process

There will be clear text in the event listing if events can only be booked by teachers and advisers. Students can book our events through the link on the event page, or can contact us on [email protected] for more information.

Information for teachers and advisers

We are always happy to hear from schools and colleges about supporting their year 12 and 13 students with their transition to higher education. To book an activity, invite us to an HE Fair or discuss bespoke campus visits, please email us at [email protected] or to find out more please click here.

We provide high quality presentations and workshops to students, staff and parents related to higher education. We know that you want the best for your students and you need someone you can trust. All our sessions are fully resourced, completely free of charge and delivered by our experienced team. These session will equip participants with the tools they need to make informed decisions about their future, and make a successful transition to higher education. These presentations can be delivered online or in person at your institution.

Our interactive sessions have been designed with the post 16 student lifecycle in mind. The idea is to drip-feed the right information, at the right time, over their post 16 journey.

Typical talks include a focus on themes such as:

  • What University Can Do For You
  • Researching Your Options
  • The UCAS Process
  • Personal Statement Workshop
  • Student Finance
  • Wellbeing
  • Results Day and Clearing
  • Why study at NTU?

The talks are designed to inspire, encourage and support students through the application process, whilst informing them about what Nottingham Trent University and higher education in general has to offer. The programme of talks is constantly being reviewed and updated so most requests can be catered for. Most sessions last between 30 minutes and one hour, although it is possible to alter the sessions depending upon the needs of the school/college.

The Expert Series

The Expert Series offers your students the opportunity to hear directly from NTU academics on a wide range of subject areas in a 45-60 minute session in your institution, bringing fascinating topics to life in an engaging way that demonstrates to students how these subjects are taught at university.

In some cases, subject content will link directly to the Level 3 syllabus that your students are studying.

Talks include information about future career destinations and provide students with an opportunity to ask questions and debate the topic with an expert. For more information, or to book a session, please contact [email protected] or see here for our current sessions.

Post 16 Campus Visit

Book a campus visit for your students. A typical day runs from 10:00 – 14:30 and can be tailored to suit your requirements. Research shows that students who visit a university are more likely to apply to higher education and engage better in their post 16 studies. Our campus visits are an opportunity for your students to visit a modern university campus and connect with current university students. They will also receive key information, advice and guidance to help them with their decision-making process and transition into higher education.

We find that participants walk away from our campus visits with an enthusiastic and motivated perspective.
