Full event details

Engineering Systemisers is a UCL-led initiative designed to empower the next generation (ages 11 to 18) with the mindset, tools, and knowledge to tackle complex societal and business challenges through gamification, Systems Thinking, and Systems Engineering.

Our interactive workshops, backed up by Systems Frontier Lab, offer students a fun discovery-based learning experience to think and act like a Systems Engineer. Working in groups, students will take on real-world challenges – linked to health, transport, energy, and space systems – by playing cooperative table-top games. The games are co-developed and delivered by UCL Engineering Systemisers community, a diverse team of renowed UCL academics, students and engineers from London universities, and industry partners.

The workshops help develop students Systems Thinking, critical thinking, problem-finding, creative problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

The programme is also a fantastic opportunity for students to make connections and gain valuable collaborative skills and experience within a higher education setting. They can:

  • attend the foundational Systems Engineering sessions and receive a UCL Certificate of Engineering Systemiser
  • become affiliate member of Systems Frontier Lab and receive support on future STEM-related career
  • become a School Systems Ambassador and represent their school within the growing Systemisers community
  • collaborate with university students and engineers from leading industries
