This course is designed to give you an idea of what classicists do, and what studying the ancient world at UCL involves. It is open to students with no prior experience of Greek and Latin. Through a series of lectures and seminar-style sessions given by UCL teachers, and drawing on the expertise of the Department of Greek and Latin and related departments of the university (including Archaeology and History), we aim to introduce you to various interesting themes in ancient culture, civilization and history (possible topics may include Greek mythology and religion, women in ancient Greece, classical drama, Roman comedy, and childhood in ancient Rome). More information about topics, lecturers and schedules will be available on the Departmental webpage closer to the date.
