Responding to conspiracy theories, disinformation and dangerous ideas in the classroom

CPD Twilight for Schools: Wednesday 29 November 2023, 16:30 - 19:00

Join us at UCL's new East campus for an interactive workshop for school staff, exploring the latest research in this field as well as strategies for supporting staff and learners. The session will offer guidance on how to respond when students raise conspiracies or dangerous/offensive ideas in the classroom, including misogyny and dangerous ideas from the 'manosphere'. This event is delivered in partnership with educational charity SINCE 9/11 and linked to recent research with UCL’s Institute of Education, Addressing Extremism Through the Classroom: https://bit.ly/AddressingExtremism

The workshop will be run by Jeremy Hayward, Associate Professor at the Institute of Education, UCL. Jeremy has written guidance for UK schools on responding to conspiracy theories in the classroom and delivered lectures and CPD on this topic to teachers and educational leaders in the UK, Europe and Worldwide.

Places are limited and offered to staff at East London state schools only.
