We are pleased to announce we will be hosting Masterclass Days in July 2023.

These days are perfect for anyone interested in going to university or specifically St Mary’s. They are tailored for Year 12, Year 13, and Level 3 learners. Each event will feature two academic taster sessions delivered by experts in the field before a campus tour with our friendly Student Ambassadors.

The Law LLB Masterclass is designed to provide prospective law students with an introduction to legal skills and a short debate, as well as provide an insight into the many different careers a law degree can lead to.

We can’t wait to welcome you to St Mary’s!

Schedule
10am: Welcome to St Mary’s and Careers in Law
10.15am: Words as the Tools of the Lawyer's Trade
11am: Exercise on the Meaning of a Statute
11.45am: Campus tour
12.30pm: Lunch
1.15pm: Debate on one of the three listed propositions
2.30pm: Depart
Propositions for discussion
You will be asked to provide a ‘for’ or an ‘against’ argument for one of these statements.

It is okay to download songs from the internet without paying, even if this is against the law.
Children should not be allowed to eat fatty and sugary foods.
There should be no rules against bullying in schools, as children should learn to stand up for themselves.
