Full event details

Our University of Exeter Student Study Buddies programme is designed to help students develop their subject knowledge, practice their exam technique and show them the exciting realities beyond their classroom learning. Throughout the school year, our Study Buddies will run a series of between four to six 1-hour sessions focused on developing specific topic knowledge and revision strategies, as well as giving students a chance to ask questions about course material, study, and Higher Education more generally. Each session is focused on an individualised topic set by teacher leads, based on the school curriculum, with Study Buddies activities bringing ‘real world’ applications of classroom material to the fore.

The dates and timings of each visit are determined by the teaching lead and lesson plans are developed collaboratively. For 2020/21 virtual delivery of sessions can be arranged.

Study Buddies can be booked to support the following subject areas:

Biology and Chemistry
Biosciences
Business (Cornwall schools only)
Economics
Geography
Law
Medicine - preparing to apply to Medicine
Politics
Psychology
Working with Numbers - Accounting, Economics & Management
As well as the topic areas above we are excited to launch for 2020/21 our new themed Study Buddies programmes focused on interdisciplinary skills development -

Skills for Studying STEM
Skills for Studying Humanities and Social Sciences
These programmes are available for face to face delivery or can be requested as electronic resources packs to support in school teaching, to be set as homework tasks, or to support homeschooling.

Please contact us to find out whether your school is eligible and to access the resources.
