A free, online recursion and programming concepts masterclass for A-level Computing students, led by Dr Simon Katan.

Dr Simon Katan, from the Department of Computing is running a free, 3-part, A level Recursion and Programming Concepts Masterclass.
The masterclass will be split across three 90 minute sessions, as follows:
Session 1: 16:00, Wednesday 9 September
Session 2: 16:00, Wednesday 16 September
Session 3: 16:00, Wednesday 23 September
Session 1: You will learn to apply a selection of fundamental programming concepts within the p5.js framework to create graphical outputs. These will be reused in session 3 as part of the Defender game.
Session 2: Apply recursive function calls to create novel graphics. Through this students will develop a more intuitive understanding of how recursive processes can proliferate.
Session 3: Understand recursive searches and data structures and apply them to creating game mechanics for a side scroller game.
Attendance is free.
Who Should Attend?
Masterclass events are for A level students who already have some knowledge of computer science and want to learn more. Each session introduces you to an advanced A level Computer Science concept and gives you the skills and confidence to apply it in your own programming practice.
