What is Speech and Language Therapy?
Are you considering a degree in psychology, biology or languages? Do you want to work with people? Do you want a degree that leads directly to employment? Have you thought about Speech and Language Therapy?

Speech and Language Therapy is a profession which encompasses biomedical sciences, psychology, languages, linguistics and phonetics. Speech and Language Therapists are health professionals who help children and adults who have difficulties with communication. The BSc combines academic study, hands on practical experience and clinical placements and is accredited by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. At the end of the course you will have both an academic and a vocational qualification and will be eligible to register and work as a Speech and Language Therapist.

An example of what we offer
Our Speech and Language division run a variety of sessions available for schools and colleges, including talks on what it is like to study Speech and Language at university and taster lectures to give students a feel for university level study in the subject.

Where sessions take place
At your school or at City

How it is delivered
Depending on the preferred format, we offer varying sessions:

- Why study ____?
- Mock lecture (less interactive)
- Interactive activity workshop

Sessions that take place at City will be in one of our teaching rooms or lecture theatres.

This is a free service and most sessions last approximately one hour, although it is possible to alter the sessions depending upon the needs of the school/college.
