St Mary’s Open Event Travel Bursary

St Mary’s University is offering up to a £50 travel bursary to support eligible students who would like to attend our Undergraduate Open Days and Offer Holder Days.

To help make attending an Open Day more accessible, this travel bursary is available to prospective students who meet at least one of our widening participation eligibility criteria.

This includes care experienced and estranged students, young carers, forced migrants, and students from Gypsy, Roma, Irish Traveller, Showperson or Boater communities.

Academic Taster Session: Cultural revolution? Britain and the long 1960s  St Mary’s University, Twickenham This session examines the extent to which post-war Britain experienced a ‘cultural revolution’, including main historical accounts of the period and uses key primary sources to open up discussion. Depending on a given school’s requirements, the emphasis can be slanted towards questions around race, gender, ‘permissiveness’ or popular culture.

Academic Taster Session: Five shots, Five seconds challenge workshop St Mary’s University, Twickenham This session will focus on shot types, selection, and cinematography techniques like the rule of thirds, 20 degrees rule, and framing. The students will work in small groups to shoot five different shots that last five seconds each.
