University of Kent

Institution Profile

Your next step starts at Kent.

University is about more than a degree. It’s about having the opportunities, support and experiences to make the most of your time here. At Kent, we’ve built that in from day one.

You’ll benefit from a guaranteed internship and employer-led projects, helping you build experience, confidence and connections for the future.

You’ll learn from leading experts, explore the latest thinking, debate the big issues and develop your own ideas. You can also broaden your degree, with many of our undergraduate courses offering the opportunity to take a year in industry, giving you valuable real-world experience alongside your studies. And if you want to explore the world, many courses offer the option of a year abroad.

Home students get £2,000 over their first two years at Kent – £1,000 in cash and £1,000 to spend on campus food and drink. If you’re an international student, you can benefit from a £5,000 scholarship.

You’ll become part of a welcoming student community. Meet people on your course, make new friends and get involved in our 250+ clubs and societies. Whether you’re into sport, music, culture or something completely different, there’s plenty to get involved in.

Our support services can help with a wide range of needs, including academic, financial and wellbeing support, whenever you need it.

There’s guaranteed accommodation, affordable meal deals on campus and free sports membership in your first year, so there’s less to worry about and more time to focus on what matters.

You’ll have the opportunity to make the most of your time at university. Explore our facilities, discover new interests and experience everything campus life has to offer. With 300 acres of beautiful green space on our Canterbury campus, a vibrant city on your doorstep, 50 beaches nearby and London less than an hour away by train, there’s plenty to explore beyond your studies.

At our Medway campus, where you can study Social Work, Business and Pharmacy, you’ll be surrounded by historic buildings renovated for 21st-century study. With restaurants, cafés and our student hub, there’s plenty of space to relax.
