University of Greater Manchester

Institution Profile

The University of Greater Manchester is proud to deliver a supportive learning environment, where we put you, and your needs, first. We offer a broad range of courses designed to support students from all backgrounds to progress into higher education and beyond.

We're delighted to be No. 1 in the North West for Teaching Quality (The Times and Sunday Times, Good University Guide), and for the past 6 years, we have been ranked No.1 for Student Satisfaction (Complete University Guide - Student Satisfaction - North West).

We are a university who put our students needs first and offer a supportive and positive environment so you can achieve your chosen goals. We are all about small class sizes, courses designed in consultation with industry experts, continued multi-million-pound investment in our facilities and we focus on employability after training. We are Teaching Intensive, Research Informed.

School and College Liaison

We understand that choosing to study at Higher Education is a big decision, and there is plenty to know and learn during this journey. We are here to support your students with a variety of talks and workshops, as well as attending your HE fairs.

The UK Student Recruitment Team (alongside the support of our dedicated Student Ambassadors) are on hand to personally deliver a wide range of sessions, visit your students both in person and virtually, and offer your students the opportunity to come and experience the University of Greater Manchester campus itself - taking part in taster sessions and getting a feel for university life. We aim to work with your school or college with content which supports and helps develop good career guidance. Our sessions have been created with the Gatsby Benchmarks in mind, meaning the workshops and talks we offer can be worked into your internal programmes. More information on the Gatsby Benchmarks can be found here.

We’re keen to have a personalised approach with our School and College partners. You will have a dedicated contact at the University within the UK Student Recruitment Team who will liaise with you on any upcoming opportunities, or alternatively, someone you can reach out to for support.

Uni Connect

We work closely with Uni Connect programme, Greater Manchester Higher, supporting widening participation (WP) and reducing barriers to higher education. This includes targeted outreach and support for under-represented groups, including care-experienced and first-generation students, ensuring all learners feel informed, supported and welcomed.

Visit Us

Prospective students, teachers and advisers are encouraged to visit us at our Open Days and on-campus events to explore our facilities, meet staff and students, and learn more about the support available throughout the student journey.
