Primary and Secondary Schools
The Widening Participation Team works with those who are currently underrepresented in higher education, as defined by the Office for Students.
We have developed a comprehensive programme of activities for those in Years 5-11 which can be delivered on campus and in schools.
Our campus visits include a campus tour, Intro to Higher Education or Student Life, and a student Q&A. Depending on the length of the visit, we can offer further sessions such as Growth Mindset.
As our work is targeted, we ask that schools try to ensure that two thirds of the group who attend are selected from the following target groups:
- Those who are first in their family to attend higher education.
- Those eligible for free school meals.
- Those with additional needs.
- Those in the care of the local authority (looked after children).
- Those who are service children.
