Taster course programme

Thinking of continuing your studies into Higher Education? Taster courses can provide you with taste of university life in London. These short courses at our participating universities give you a chance to:

  • experience the different teaching methods used at university.
  • gain an insight into the additional facilities available.
  • meet students from across the UK.
All our taster courses are free and you can choose from a variety of subjects, ranging from voice and drama, medicine and nursing, computing and business. See a list of upcoming taster courses below.

Are you feeling unsure on what to do after school or college? Take control of your future today.

Our free online course, ‘What’s Next?’ guides you through post-18 options, to help you make a great decision about your next step. It's impartial and designed by qualified careers consultants from the University of London Careers Service.

The course is delivered online via Moodle, so you can experience university-style study. It is split into two modules:

Understanding your options – an overview of your post-18 options and what to consider (from money matters to current labour market information and skills and employability) when picking an option.

What’s the right choice for me? – helps you understand what’s important to you and where different options can lead.

What do students think about the course? "The What’s Next course was not only an educational journey but also a journey for self-discovery." ‘The course informed my future plans because it helped me to choose what I wanted to do and it helped me understand university is not the only way. I can do other things as well’
