Full event details

Through mini-lectures and seminar discussion, we will put Shakespeare's tragedy into conversation with the elite courtly production, The Masque of Blackness, and public civic pageants that were staged on the streets of London. We will consider early modern performance cultures, the construction of identity, and the material conditions necessary to produce these identities.
