What is an Open Day about?
We make sure we fill our Open Days with as much information as we can about university life at Coventry. Our students pass on their first hand experience and share their knowledge with you about studying here. You can ask them questions throughout the day, whether it's about their course or just where the best place is to go for a night out.

Our academic and professional staff can answer your questions about the Coventry University learning experience and give you detailed information about our courses, work placements and links to industry. You can also go on a walking tour of the University Quarter with one of our current students so you can get a good understanding of our surroundings and what it’s like to live and study in a city centre campus.

What can I expect to see and do?
Find out about your course or subject of interest, directly from the people in the know – that’s our academic staff and our current students. We know that choosing your course is the most important thing to get right when making your application to university. Come on an Open Day and get the information you need about course modules, face to face tuition time and our system of personal tutors.

Understand our approach to teaching and learning. We care about the quality of our teaching and make sure it is interactive, stimulating and fun. A large number of our courses are professionally accredited and have exciting study and work placement opportunities right across the world. Our lecturers and professors bring knowledge gained from research and professional working experience in their field straight into the lecture theatre. Come and meet them and find out if our approach works for you.

Discover how we support and emphasise work placements, internships and giving our students the opportunity to gain international experience. Our aim is to produce the “global graduate” that we know employers are now looking for. It’s this investment and support that means that an impressive 94% of our graduates gained employment or continued to further study six months after they left. Come and talk to our Careers and Employability Service team about the opportunities that might be available to you.

Take a close look at the teaching and learning facilities within each academic department. We are constantly investing in and improving the facilities we have for our students, whether it’s in the laboratory, the studio, the workshop or the lecture theatre. We have also invested heavily in our brand new student building – The Hub – to create the right environment for your life as a student here.

Go on tours and get lots of information – we offer a full set of flexible tours on the Open Day including a Campus Tour (40 mins), a tour of The Hub students’ building (20 mins), a tour of the city centre (30 mins) and an accommodation tour (60 mins). They work on a “turn up and go” basis (no need to book) so can be easily slotted in before or after a Welcome Talk or Course Information Session. Make your way to TheHub on the day to find out more. And while you are there have a look around the student information stands – everything from finance to sports and accommodation to the Students’ Union – and grab a coffee and a snack (or if you're with us from first thing, breakfast!) in the Food Court on the first floor.

Meet lots of people! It’s safe to say that virtual tours and videos are all very well but there’s no substitute for visiting a place for real and meeting the people who will be teaching you, supporting you and maybe even studying with you. It’s also a chance to meet Recruitment and Admissions Office staff who will be your main contact point with the university if you apply for a course here.

So come on an Open Day and find out for sure if Coventry University is the right place for you.
