Full event details

In this Chemistry session, we will be joined by Dr James Wright, Lecturer in Physical, Analytical and Inorganic Chemistry in the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at University of Surrey, who will run an interactive skills and insight workshop for students on Analysing Data.

This session will cover how to interpret the data obtained from chemical experiments, including:

How to present experimental data and interpret data
Understanding correlation vs causation
Determining whether a relationship between experimental variables is significant or not
Using all the above to propose new experiments – a vital Chemistry skill
The session will be interactive; you/your class will be asked to respond to data presented and think critically. Whilst supporting your current studies, the session content will be related to the content of degrees in Chemistry and allied sciences, for a taster of what is to come at university.
