Every year, many students go to college and university with a dream job in mind. However, the realities of many occupations do not match with what the student thinks is involved.
We will look at different aspects of roles including who you would work with; what hours are likely; where you would do this role; why would you want to do this role; and what are the qualifications needed.
This free workshop is being provided to enable people to make an informed choice of career. We will look at how, where, when, why and who is involved in a variety of careers to ensure people have a realisitc idea of what is involved in their chosen career. There will be an independent activity for 15 minutes in the middle of the workshop to enable attendees to locate relevant information. Alternatively, people may not know what there ideal job is yet, and this workshop maybe helpful
The workshop will be delivered via the interactive Mentimeter software which will enable attendees to participate in activities and ask questions. The software also creates a bespoke report at the end of the session and all attendees can request a copy.
The workshop is an updated version of previous workshops with additional information contributed by current disabled students and recent disabled graduates.
