Give your students the opportunity to experience university STEM for themselves with an exciting, hands-on taster day designed to bring technical subjects to life.
Students will step inside our state-of-the-art university facilities (including our brand new SMART Centre) and take part in practical, practice-led workshops - from mechanics laboratories, construction and fabrication workshops to our towing tanks and maritime simulation suite. They’ll get to experience what it’s really like to learn and problem-solve in a university environment and understand how studying at Solent will prepare them for the realities of today’s world of work.
From Applied Robotics and Land Surveying to Hydromechanics, Kinematic Simulation and Chartwork with Tide Adventures, students will tackle real-world challenges, use specialist equipment and discover how STEM knowledge is applied beyond the classroom.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to:
- Get hands-on with university-level STEM subjects
- Explore careers and future study opportunities
- Experience specialist university facilities and equipment
- Develop practical problem-solving and technical skills
- Build confidence in a real university learning environment
- Gain a better understanding of where STEM subjects could take them
The day is ideal for students interested in Engineering, Architecture, Computing, Technology and Maritime, giving them the chance to explore their interests, discover new possibilities and take a positive step towards higher education and their future careers.
Bring your students along and let them experience STEM in action.
