Maths taster session: How do we tell knots apart?

Knot theory studies the properties of curves in three-dimensional space. It's a thriving branch of mathematics that has growing relevance to biology and theoretical physics. 

Led by Dr James Cranch from the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, you'll learn what a knot is, why telling them apart is hard, and how to start doing so.

You'll also be introduced to our undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses, and have the chance to get your questions answered by a current student.
