Criminal Investigation Day: One Punch
What happens when one punch changes everything?
Step into the world of criminal investigation and explore the real-life Jacob Dunne case in this interactive day designed for sixth form students interested in law, criminology, policing or criminal justice.
Starting with an ordinary night out that ended in tragedy, you’ll follow the case from the initial incident through the police investigation, evidence gathering, charging decisions, court proceedings and sentencing.
But this isn’t just about observing — you’ll be part of the investigation. Examine evidence, consider the decisions investigators and prosecutors have to make, and discover how the criminal justice system responds to serious violence.
The day will also explore restorative justice, giving you the opportunity to think about the impact of crime on victims, offenders and wider society.
Could you make the decisions that help solve a serious crime?
Join us for a hands-on introduction to the realities of criminal investigation and the justice system.
