The USA accounts for 5% of the global population, yet 35% of all mass shootings around the world happen in the USA. For every 100 citizens in the USA, they own approximately 121 firearms. This lecture looks at how 'Psychological Autopsy' research and studies of mass shooters help psychologists understand the complex factors behind gun violence, and what the common themes are among many mass shooters.
