Building Tomorrow: How Earth, Energy, and Nature Shape Sustainable Cities

Join Dr Elma Charalampidou from Heriot-Watt University for a workshop introducing high school pupils to how we may construct greener cities using renewable energy, sustainable building materials, and nature-based solutions like raingardens. We look at how earth derived materials and engineering design may minimise carbon emissions, manage water naturally and build resilient places to live through the perspective of materials science. The workshop aims to encourage students to realise how science, creativity and sustainability combine and how they can be part of crafting a more sustainable future for everyone.
