Our Summer Insight Days give students the chance to explore life at Essex beyond the prospectus. They'll experience academic taster sessions, get a feel for our campus, and begin to picture what university could look like for them. The days run from 9.45am to 2.35pm.
Open to students in Years 10 to 13, these events help young people make informed decisions about their future study options, wherever they are in their planning journey. While both days follow the same structure, each focuses on a different faculty area, giving students the opportunity to explore a range of subject-specific taster sessions.
30th June: This day focuses on our Social Sciences and Humanities subjects, with taster sessions in Business, Politics and Law, as well as the Edge Hotel School.
1st July: This day focuses on our STEM subjects, with taster sessions in Computer Science, Mathematics, Psychology, Sport Science, Life Sciences and Health and Social Care.
We are also excited to offer a Taster Day Bursary for school groups attending these events. School groups bringing 10 or more post-16 students can claim up to £150 towards their travel expenses.*
*Please note that this offer is not available in conjunction with the Schools Membership Travel Bursary.
