This event is free to attend. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, and eligible students can also receive a travel bursary to attend the taster day.
You will experience an interactive taster session from one of our academics, providing you with an understanding of what it would be like to study archaeology with us, before spending the afternoon at one of our excavation sites in Cookham.
The interactive session:
what can old bones tell us about today's global health challenges?
This lecture outlines the three major health transitions in human history. It also explores what evidence from human skeletal remains around the world can teach us about the factors that have affected the nature and spread of disease over time.
The day will begin at 09:30 on our Whiteknights campus. In the afternoon, you will travel by coach to Cookham before returning to Whiteknights campus at approximately 16:00. This will give you plenty of time to immerse yourself in the subject and explore the relevant department.
