As an attendee, you will participate in two hands-on sessions, providing you with an understanding of the course content and what it's like to actually study these subjects at university level.
Information regarding the sessions is below:
Session 1: Water Security
In this session, we will define water security in a tropical context, explain key hydrological and climatic drivers in the tropics, identify major threats to water security and recognise social inequalities in access to water.
Session 2: People in the Tropics
In this session, we will evaluate adaptation strategies to water insecurity, understand local/traditional knowledge systems and critically assess top-down versus bottom-up approaches.
This taster day will be held at our Whiteknights campus and will run from approximately 10:00 – 15:00 (or 16:00 with an optional campus tour), allowing you time to really immerse yourself in the subject and relevant department.
