Join us for UEL's Your Future Summer School 2026 - a free, exciting week designed for Year 12 and FE1 students to explore university life, discover future career pathways, and build new skills through hands-on workshops, academic taster sessions, and real campus experiences. This year's theme is Entrepreneurship.
Applications are now open for the Your Future Summer School 2026. The summer school will take place at our Docklands campus, from Monday 6th – Friday 10th July 2026.
It’s a five-day, free non-residential Summer School designed to support year 12’s /FE1’s explore their future pathways and next steps beyond sixth form and college. Student's will participate in engaging academic sessions, practical workshops, and real university experiences.
This year’s theme is Entrepreneurship. Students will explore innovation, creativity, sustainability, leadership, and problem-solving through hands-on activities and collaborative challenges. The Summer School will encourage business-minded thinking, inspiring students to work together and bring their entrepreneurial ideas to life.
The summer school is FREE to attend and runs from 10am – 4pm each day (registration 09.30am)
What you can expect:
- Hands-on academic taster sessions led by UEL academics, giving students the opportunity to learn from their expertise
- Practical workshops to help become Higher Education (HE) Ready, Future Ready, and Career Ready
- Experience university life at UEL while building skills, confidence, and connections
- Opportunity to collaborate with others to develop your ideas and bring your product to life through a Dragon’s Den-style interactive pitch workshop
- Access industry experts and start preparing for your future career
Our Summer School is aimed at Year 12/FE1’s and students who are underrepresented in higher education. Priority will also be given to students studying at schools or colleges in the following areas: Newham, Tower Hamlets, Redbridge, Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Waltham Forest, Hackney, and Essex (including Southend on Sea, Basildon or Thurrock).
Travel Support
- London students: Travel costs are reimbursed up to £25 after the programme, subject to eligibility, evidence, and full attendance (exceptions may apply).
- Essex students: Travel costs are covered in advance by Make Happen, subject to eligibility and full attendance (exceptions may apply).

This is not just another Summer School, it is an opportunity for students to explore, challenge, and rethink what entrepreneurship means while developing confidence, creativity, and future-ready skills.
