Our summer schools offer you the chance to try out what it's like studying at university.
The University of Brighton summer schools programme offers you the chance to experience what it’s like to study at university, helping you to decide what’s right for you after sixth form or college. We have three types of summer schools:
We offer on-campus residential (staying overnight in halls), on-campus non-residential (attending each day, not staying overnight) and online summer schools.
Residential summer schools (7-9 July)
You’ll get a chance to explore varied sessions during the day to give you a taste of different courses. This will include a programme of workshops and academic sessions in the subject area you’ve chosen. There are also social activities in the evening, and overnight stays in our halls of residence – all supported by our current students. Subjects for 2026 include art & media, engineering, health professions, humanities, science, social science, and sport.
Non-residential summer schools (1-2 July)
Our business and law non-residential summer schools offer you the chance to try out what it’s like to study at university. You’ll get a chance to explore varied sessions during the day to give you a taste of different business and law courses – all supported by our current students. By the end of the summer school, you will have tried out lots of different subject tasters, made new friends, and have a much better idea of what it’s like to study at university.
Online summer schools (20 - 23 July).
Our online summer schools offer you the chance to get a taste of what it's like to study a subject you love at university.
Find out about the university experience from lecturers, current students, and university staff. You'll take part in taster sessions and a subject-specific project that could be used to support your personal statement.
