Full event details

Our hands-on film-making workshop offers a genuine taste of life in front of or behind the camera. This is the perfect chance to explore performance, direction and the fast-paced world of live TV production inside the University of West London's professional TV studios. Leading the session will be acclaimed director and producer Chris Bould — whose credits include 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?', 'My Friend Joe' and the award-winning 'The Nicholas Brothers: We Sing and We Dance'.

This is more than a workshop: it’s a snapshot of the energy and imagination behind our brand-new BA (Hons) Film, Screen and Content Production degree.

On the course, our students:

  • Get hands-on from day one, creating content in their very first module
  • Learn every stage of production: script development, cinematography, editing, VFX, virtual production and more
  • Explore narrative, genre, factual storytelling and the future of film
  • Build advanced visual storytelling skills across formats — from short films to vertical video, branded content to immersive installations
  • Develop academic depth through 'Thinking Through Film' units in theory, audience insight and media literacy
  • Pitch and produce a major final-year project that showcases their unique film-making voice
  • Gain the knowledge and confidence needed for freelance work, creative entrepreneurship or professional industry roles.

If your students are excited by storytelling, fascinated by film or curious about what really happens behind the scenes, this workshop will spark their imagination and show them how their ideas could grow into real, industry-ready productions.

Join us in the studio and discover what’s possible when creativity meets the lens.
