University event offered by University of East Anglia
Short Session Delivered online
Session time: Thursday 29 January, 12.45-1.30pm
This interactive workshop explores how sports psychology theory translates into everyday coaching practice. We will examine common coaching behaviours—both positive and negative—and how they shape team culture, athlete wellbeing, and overall performance.
Through discussion and examples, participants will gain insight into the characteristics of high-performing teams and the psychological environments that allow them to thrive.
The session will include a scenario-based task, encouraging active participation and practical application of concepts to realistic coaching situations.
Suitable for: Aged 16+ pre-university students studying, or with a possible interest in studying, Sports Science, Psychology and related disciplines. Student groups as well as students and teachers joining individually are very welcome.
