Full event details

In this practical workshop we will examine Federico García Lorca's play "Yerma", currently set for A-level Drama. Taking its social, cultural and historical contexts into account, we will explore the interpretative processes involved in preparing the play for performance. We will consider the practical demands of the text from the perspectives of director, performer and designer (lighting, sound, set, costume).

The workshop will include brief screenings and moments of discussion, though the main focus will be on creative activities and practical exercises that help participants bring the play to life.

Dr Pablo Pakula is a Spanish national and an experienced practising performance-maker, live artist and event curator.

There is also the option to have a tour of our beautiful campus.
