Early Childhood Studies team at Middlesex University is offering to visit your students to take part in an engaging 45-minute university taster seminar, delivered by our academic staff. The tasters are: 1. The Neuroscience of Babies, 2. Attachment and Wellbeing or 3. Emotion and Learning: The Role of Self-Regulation
These taster seminars are designed for Year 12 and Year 13 students studying Education, Psychology, Health & Social Care, Social Work, or related vocational qualifications, and aim to give them a real insight into the kind of teaching and critical thinking they can expect at university.
We currently offer a choice of three interactive seminars:
1. The Neuroscience of Babies: How Brains Are Built: Explore how babies’ brains develop in the early years, and the key factors that shape their growth and learning potential.
2. Attachment and Wellbeing: Foundations for Life: Discover how early attachment experiences shape our sense of self, feelings of safety, and long-term wellbeing.
3. Emotion and Learning: The Role of Self-Regulation: Examine how emotions influence learning, and why self-regulation and co-regulation are essential to supporting learners of all ages.
These seminars are for group of your students and we can fit these in where your timetable allows.
