Short Session Delivered online
Long-term shifts in global temperatures are causing changes in weather patterns and disrupting the balance of nature, representing a fundamental threat to human beings and all other forms of life on Earth. Despite this, efforts by world leaders to reduce global carbon emissions, the leading cause of climate change, seem to have so far failed to produce a solution. Why have countries and people found it so hard to cooperate to reach a mutually beneficial outcome? This session will introduce you to the economics of climate change, the incentives that we all face to continue polluting, and the reasons why it can be so difficult to cooperate on something as important as global warming.
