Join our exciting Adult Nursing taster session where we’ll take a deep dive into the endocrine system, learning how to regulate blood glucose levels and about one common endocrine disease. The session will involve taught content from the Nursing (Adult) degree, an interactive quiz and a chance to ask questions and chat with the Nursing programme lead and current students!

By the end of this interactive taster session, you will be able to: 

  • Gain an insight on the endocrine system with a focus on the pancreatic islets
  • Describe the actions of insulin and glucagon
  • Explain how blood glucose levels are regulated
  • Have an awareness of the common endocrine disorder- diabetes mellitus
