Creative Media Day
15 January 2026
Do you have students interested in Creative Media, but not sure of which pathway to choose? This day is perfect for them.
Our Creative Media Day has been successfully running for several years, collaborating with schools and colleges to provide engaging sessions run by our industry professional for students who are interested in studying within creative industries, but are unsure of their pathway.
This year we have evolved the event to encompass all the subject areas with our Creative Industries School. Presenting to you, two days of interactive workshops across art, design, fashion, beauty, interiors, media, film, and production.
Each day focuses on a different creative school at Solent, offering:
- Hands-on, practical projects in real university settings
- Expert guidance from academics and industry professionals
- Tangible work for UCAS applications and creative portfolios
- Access to professional grade facilities including our virtual production stage, film and music studios, newsrooms and design workshops.
Audience
Year 12 and 13 / level 3 students and above - mature students welcome. This event is not for pre-16 learners. Students may attend on their own, or in a group with their school/college.
Students studying any subjects are welcome to attend whether A levels, vocational qualifications or any combination. The day will concentrate on creative industry subjects including animation, audio, digital arts, film, fashion, beauty, journalism, event management, games, media, music production, photography, interiors, architecture, fine art, graphic design, and VFX.
Perfect for those building a UCAS portfolio or exploring future degree options.
What will students do and gain from the day?
Before students arrive, they will be required to pick one of the taster sessions for each day they attend. They will be in the same session all day and collaborate to create a piece of media content. Sessions do have capacity limits, so please ensure they book early to avoid disappointment.
They will be supported by our industry professionals and have access to our state-of-the-art facilities and equipment. This will help them to explore a passion or discover an unknown area and get a sense of how studying that at university could lead to a rewarding career. Students should leave with content that they can use within their own professional portfolios.
