In this interactive Wellbeing at University session, we are joined by a panel of wellbeing experts from University of Warwick and University of Southampton to reassure students applying for university that, whatever their support needs, they are welcome and will have every opportunity to succeed. The panel will include a current student who will share their own experiences.
Our speakers will begin by introducing the support services and facilities you might expect to find at university, starting with immediate support available for your transition to university.? We will think about managing emotions, potential homesickness, and making friends at university, including some essential myth-busting around misconceptions that we know affect many students as they consider applying and preparing for university.
Additionally, students with mental health and physical conditions that could impact their ability to enjoy and succeed at university will want to know what details to share, when and with whom. Find out how universities welcome, respect and respond to these personal disclosures, as well as gaining an insight into how confidentiality is managed.
And then we will turn our attention to living with a condition at university and getting the right provision in place, such as appropriate accommodation and learning support, to ensure your day-to-day experience is as comfortable and productive as possible.
Be sure to join us to find out how universities support students’ success through state-of-the-art facilities and specialist support teams in this friendly and reassuring session, which will include time to ask your questions too.
