This special event invites students interested in Media Production, Animation and Games Art, and Childhood Studies to take a deeper look at the impact and meaning behind the much-loved film.

Experience Toy Story on the big screen and explore how its groundbreaking animation, storytelling, and character design have influenced generations. Through a series of focused, hands-on workshops, students will unpack the creative and cultural layers of the film by:

  • Examining how Toy Story reflects and challenges traditional gender stereotypes, with the chance to critically deconstruct iconic characters like Buzz, Woody, Rex, and Bo Peep, questioning their portrayal in the film
  • Exploring the world of voice acting and sound design, where you'll discover how tone, timing, and vocal performance bring animated characters to life and enhance storytelling
  • Reimagining a real-world toy as a brand-new Toy Story character.
  • Sketching its appearance, building a backstory, and giving it a home in the Pixar universe

This event will include a screening of Toy Story in our recently refurbished cinema. Spaces are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.

We'll accept school group bookings from Year 12 and Year 13 students, as well as individual registrations from enquirers.
