This taster will consider a crucial question that occupies the criminological imagination and is a cornerstone of the BSc Criminology & Criminal Justice degree at Birkbeck: What is justice? This taster session will consider this question from a range of perspectives, including: 

What does ‘justice’ mean from a legal, social, cultural and transformative point of view. 

The unequal distribution of ‘justice’ in society and the reasons behind this. 

Lived experiences of ‘justice’. 

This will be illustrated through examples of Criminology academics expertise on topics such as: youth justice, racial justice, gendered justice and social justice. 

After this fascinating taster lecture, join our student ambassadors for a tour around Birkbeck’s buildings and facilities.
