Could you run a profitable hotel? Take part in this interactive activity to find out. Working in groups you will make decisions as to the star rating of your proposed hotel and the room rate per night. You will then select some facilities to include within the rooms, all will have different costs but what do you need to provide to encourage the guests to stay with you whilst still being profitable? Will your hotel have all the top-quality facilities of a 5 star hotel or will you just provide the basics? The group whose hotel is the most profitable is the winner. This is a great activity for introducing fixed and variable costs into decision making.
