Join the Chemical lab experience day at Aston University! Y12 and Y13 students will step into the shoes of a chemical engineer and take part in the laboratory synthesis of aspirin—a classic experiment at the heart of chemical engineering and industrial chemistry. Although carried out on a small scale, the experiment mirrors processes used in the pharmaceutical industry, showing how engineers design and optimize reactions to produce high-quality medicines safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
