This Adult Nursing session will briefly explore the human kidneys, how to look after them and some basic information on the challenges patients face when their kidneys have failed. The session will involve taught content from the Nursing (Adult) degree, an interactive task and a chance to ask questions and chat with the Nursing programme lead and current students! Join our engaging and interactive Adult Nursing taster session, where we'll briefly explore the human kidneys, how to look after them and some basic information on the challenges patients face when their kidneys have failed. By the end of this interactive taster session, you will be able to: - Describe the basic anatomy of the urinary system and the kidneys - State the function of the kidneys - Identify main causes of damage to the kidneys - Describe what chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end stage kidney disease (ESKD) are - Describe at a basic level, the dietary and fluid restrictions that may be necessary to manage kidney disease
