University event offered by University of Birmingham
Short Session Minimum students: 1
Multiple Voices: New York City Poetry explores the poetry written in New York from the 19th century to the present day. It's an examination of poetry that calls attention to the everyday experiences of urban life, that tells many stories, articulates inner lives, and expresses tactics of survival and modes of care. It's about poetry that walks and talks. The Masterclass will start with a short lecture offering an overview of the themes and material, followed by a workshop in which students will close-read and discuss a handful of selected poems.
This Masterclass is open to students in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13.
