Engineering in General and General Engineering at the University of Sheffield with an Electrical Flavour

Topics to be covered
· Interactive introduction about engineering definition
· What is the General Engineering programme at The University of Sheffield, and requirements
· Electric Vehicles as an Interdisciplinary Context
Learning outcomes
· Have a comprehensive idea about General engineering at the University of Sheffield.
· Know about the Engineering disciplines included in the Electric Vehicle
· Have a fundamental understanding of:
- Ohm's law
- Kirchhoff’s voltage law
- Hint about motor equivalent circuit and closed loop control
There will then be a chance for you to talk to some of our current students studying General
Engineering in the Q&A along with Dr Mahmoud Masoud

When: Thursday 23rd May- 3.45pm - 4.45pm

Age Group: Year 12 and Year 13

Location: Online

Itinerary: 3.45pm-3.55pm - 10 minute overview of General Engineering
3.55pm-4.25pm - 30 minute subject taster talk
4.25pm-4.45pm - Q&A with current students
