An access programme exclusively designed for Year 12 / Year One Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority students to support their exploration of HE. Carries an 8-point reduced offer for application to EHU upon completion of the programme, with transport funding and staff time funding available for sixth forms and colleges.
We are running our Diversity Access Programme for Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic students in Year 12 or their first year of college for the fourth year. This bespoke five-event programme, running from February/March to July 2024, aims to build students’ confidence and remove any potential barriers they may face when applying to university, as well as responding to concerns or worries about university identified by students at the beginning of the programme. In previous years, the programme has concentrated on worries around finance, belonging at university and student support. Designed with input from current Edge Hill students from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, each event will be supported by these students who will share their lived experience.
The programme carries an 8-point reduced offer for students appying to Edge Hill upon completion of the programme, with transport funding and staff time funding available for sixth forms and colleges to access.
The programme is delivered in both in sixth forms/colleges and on the Edge Hill campus. One on-campus event day includes an invitation for students' supporters to attend as well.
